SUMMARY:African American Advisory Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Flint & Genesee Chamber's African American Advisory Committee August meeting - our last morning gathering of the year! We're excited to feature valuable guidance on how to set up a nonprofit organization. Jordan Brown from SIPI will lead us through the considerations of why and when it make sense to create a nonprofit\, as well as the mechanics of how to establish a nonprofit through the proper agencies at the state and federal levels. \n\n\n\nWe're excited to gather at the new location of Synergy Beauty Studio! They're in the same plaza at Saginaw & Atherton\, but have outgrown their original space. Thankfully they were able to expand in the spot right next door!\n\n\n\nThese monthly AAAC gatherings are a great way to connect with fellow entrepreneurs and business leaders to identify opportunities and address common challenges among Black-owned businesses. Bring your business cards and ideas! \n\nThe AAAC supports the growth and success of Black-owned businesses in Genesee County. Business owners\, professionals\, community partners\, and supporters are welcome to participate in AAAC activities. The AAAC serves as the liaison between the region's growing African American business community and the Flint & Genesee Chamber. AAAC members partner with the Chamber to support the advancement and development of African American businesses.\n\n\n\nPlease join the AAAC the Fourth Friday of each month for informational and networking meetings. Locations vary from month-to-month to highlight different businesses and supporting partners in the area\, and a virtual option will be offered when possible. Meeting agendas will focus on connecting people to needed resources\, engaging with community leaders\, and networking.\n\n\n\nQuestions or ideas? Email aaac@flintandgenesee.org
