DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an evening full of food\, art\, entertainment\, and a live film viewing of 'MLK/FBI' at part of the 10th Annual African American Film Series by Communities First\, Inc. Doors open at 5:30pm for dinner and free admission to the galleries at the Flint Institute of Arts. The film begins at 6:45pm. The Jan. 9\, 2025 event is free\, but donations are accepted.\n\n\n\n'MLK/FBI' is the first documentary film to uncover the extent of the FBI's surveillance and harassment of Martin Luther King\, Jr. Based on newly discovered and declassified files\, the documentary explores the government's history of targeting Black activists\, and the contested meaning behind some of our most cherished ideals. From Emmy Award winning director Sam Pollard and featuring interviews with Andrew Young\, James Comey\, Clarence Jones\, and more.\n\n \n\nA film discussion will take place directly after the movie with a local expert.
