SUMMARY:Ennis Center's 28th Annual "Scramble for Kids" Golf Outing
DESCRIPTION:Ennis Center for Children has been working with abused and/or neglected children for over 43 years with our services reaching over 6\,000 Michigan children and families in crisis annually. On any given day\, we help over 500 children in our foster care program alone. \n\nEnnis Center typically hosts fundraising events and activities that enable us to support our children in care. Like many nonprofit agencies\, Ennis Center fundraising was limited in 2020\, which could have a drastic impact on the support services we provide. \n\nChildren often come into foster care with nothing but the clothing they are wearing\; Ennis Center purchases items like clothing\, diapers\, blankets\, and toiletries to help smooth out what can be the most traumatic transition a child has ever experienced. Quite often\, we need to provide large items\, like cribs\, mattresses\, and/or bed frames in order to place children in care. Children in care frequently need extra support services such as tutoring to help bridge the gaps in their education and help to put them on the right path to a successful adulthood.\n\nOn Friday\, June 18th\, 2021 Ennis Center will host its 28th Annual 'Scramble for Kids' Golf Outing at Coyote Preserve Golf Course in Fenton\, MI. The day will include 18 holes of golf on a beautiful and challenging course\, as well as on-course games and entertainment.\n\nFunds raised at our Annual Golf Outing and other fundraising events support emergency placement services for children in foster care\, which are critical to placing children in safe\, loving homes. In addition\, funds raised at this event benefit children through support services such as therapeutic arts programming and mental health counseling\, which reduce trauma\, boost self-esteem\, and increase stabilization. All proceeds will benefit Ennis Center's programs for abused and neglected children\, and families in crisis throughout Michigan. We would be honored if you would consider supporting this fun-filled event as a golfer\, with a sponsorship\, or with an in-kind donation for our silent auction.\n\nThis year\, more than ever\, your support is needed! If you have any questions\, please contact Ennis Center's Development Department at (810) 233-4031 or email us at development@enniscenter.org.
