Please join us for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate a significant step forward in our mission of helping Michigan's foster youth.\n\n  -Special remarks\n\n  -Formal ribbon-cutting\n\n  -Opportunity to explore the new home at your leisure\n\n  -Light snacks and refreshments\n\n\n\nWhen youth in foster care transition out of residential placements\, their healing journey is far from complete. Without continued support and guidance\, it's not uncommon for these youth to become statistics\, vulnerable to the challenges of aging out of the foster care system. We know the need is great in Michigan for providing independent living programs and services to youth aging out of the foster care system. There simply are not enough ILP programs available to meet the need for youth who are looking to be placed in these specific programs. Fostering independence among youth is imperative\, especially for youth in foster care who are facing the possibility of no support once they reach adulthood and age out of foster care. It is the goal that through our ILP programming\, youth will be able to successfully transition out of foster care with a foundation for success.
