Description
February's Chamber Luncheon will touch on something we'll all likely have to deal with, if we haven't already: Caring for family as they age or develop serious ailments. Caregiving for others is hard, no matter who you’re caring for. Society doesn’t really prepare us for this common experience, especially when it comes to pursuing business goals and fulfilling other obligations at the same time. And when that family member has a condition like dementia, the challenges are even greater. We may not be able to change the condition of our loved one, but we can change how we talk about it, both to others and to ourselves.
Chamber member and business coach Ellen Patnaude took on the demanding role of caring for her mother in 2017 with a huge amount of trepidation. As her mother's dementia progressed rapidly and aggressively, Ellen searched for resources, support, and stories that mirrored her own experience. During our Luncheon, Ellen will share some of her struggles to find what she needed. She'll also pass on some valuable lessons that we can apply if we find ourselves in a similar situation. Join us for this important conversation about how we can support one another through an experience many of us will have during our lifetimes.
Chamber Luncheon is your opportunity to grow both your network and business knowledge. Please join us for this event that offers opportunities to connect with local and regional members, and up-to-date information on all things on business and community.
