Warehouse Customer Liaison

The Customer Liaison person is responsible for receiving, storing, and disbursing all pre-production material that supports tool tune-in/tryout stored at our customers facility in Grand Blanc.  This includes but is not limited to receiving material, unpacking it for storage, maintaining an inventory, re-kitting material and disbursing shipments.  The Customer Liaison person will work jointly with a General Motors Pre-Production Operation employee for direction on receiving and shipping material. 
 
Responsibilities:

  • Keeping accurate records of discussions or correspondence with customers.
  • Performing detailed inventory functions and communicating findings to GM
  • Communicating courteously with customers by telephone, email, letter and face to face.
  • Investigating and solving customers’ problems, which may be complex or long-standing problems.
  • Handling customer complaints or any major incidents.
  • Perform special projects, duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
  • Must be able to meet company attendance and reliability standards.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:  

  • Forklift experience required (skills assessment will be conducted)
  • Previous warehouse experience required; JIT (Just-In-Time) environment experience preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Customer service-oriented mindset
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and the ability to work at a productive pace

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and push/pull up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach above shoulders, and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to grasp, pull, and move materials safely
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and walk frequently throughout the shift
