This captivating documentary follows a curious chef uncovering the untold story of James Hemings, America’s first classically trained chef and the enslaved property of Thomas Jefferson. Discover how Hemings’ culinary genius helped shape American cuisine while exploring the complex legacy of freedom and creativity. The event takes place at the Flint Institute of Arts, 1120 E.
