Our Chamber Luncheon is your opportunity to grow both your network and business knowledge. Please join us for this monthly event that offers opportunities for connecting with 150+ local and regional members, and staying up-to-date on business and community topics with our featured speakers.

December's speaker will be Ruba Mahfouz-Alkotob, MPH, OTR from Hurley Medical Center. Ms. Mahfouz-Alkotob will be speaking on Hurley's Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP).  HELP is comprised of a Geriatrician, an Elder Life Specialist, Geriatric Nurse Specialists and trained volunteers.  The HELP team's mission is to guard against the decline that may occur during a hospital stay.  Hurley is the only hospital in the area to offer this added layer of care and comfort for their senior patients.  The HELP team works with patients, families and bedside nurses to promote early mobility after surgery, prevent delirium, ensure good sleep patterns and combat other risks that exist for senior patient populations.  Ms. Mahfouz-Alkotob will address what is involved in becoming a HELP volunteer, the training and the wonderful rewards of being an integral part of this program.
