With schools starting, we're excited to get you into the learning spirit as well! At our September Chamber Luncheon, we're thrilled to feature speakers from the Flint and Genesee County Literacy Network (FGLN). They'll share insights on the work they do all year long, to help build literacy for people of all ages. They are meeting the charge head-on to improve literacy rates in our county, which leads to dramatic improvements in quality of life for everyone. Whether you're an employer looking to increase the skills of your staff, an employee working alongside someone who struggles to read, or a parent of young children learning to read, the FGLN has resources to help all people develop this life-changing skill. 

FGLN team members Vincent Slocum and Heather Harrison will share insightful and interesting information that will serve as a wake-up-call to the issues our county faces, as well as a proven pathway to help our families and workforce transition from learning-to-read, to reading-to-learn. The FGLN's mission is to seek out, convene, align, and build capacity in partners who improve the lives of individuals, children, and families of Flint and Genesee County by radically raising literacy levels. We can't wait to highlight their important work!
