Description
Flint's "Shakespeare in the Parks" is back for its 11th year, bringing classic plays to parks across Flint & Genesee. This year's production of "Twelfth Night" is one of Shakespeare's most popular comedies and is believed to have been originally written as a Christmas entertainment around 1601, which focuses on twins, Viola and Sebastian. Separated in a shipwreck, Viola falls in love with Duke, who in turn is in love with the Countess Olivia. Upon meeting Viola, Countess Olivia falls in love with her thinking she is a man. The play expanded on the musical interludes and riotous disorder expected of the occasion with such favorite characters as Feste the clown and Sir Toby Belch the feisty drunken uncle of Olivia. Free admission. For details and upcoming performance dates visit www.kearsleyparkplayers.com.
