Genesee County Kicks Off Operation Green Light to Honor Veterans
Kick-Off Event: Tuesday, November 4, 2025 | 1:00 PM
Location: 324 S. Saginaw St., Flint, MI 48502
Flint, MI Genesee County Department of Veteran Services, with the support of the Genesee County Board of Commissioners, proudly announces the kickoff of Operation Green Light, a nationwide initiative led by the National Association of Counties (NACo). This campaign honors the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces by encouraging businesses, organizations, and residents to display green lights from November 4 through Veterans Day on November 11.
Operation Green Light Kick-Off Celebration will take place on Tuesday, November 4th at 1:00 PM at 324 S. Saginaw Street in downtown Flint. The event will feature remarks from local officials, community partners, and veteran advocates as Genesee County for the third-year joins communities across the nation in shining a green light of gratitude and support for all who have served.
“This initiative is a simple but powerful way for our community to show veterans that they are seen, appreciated, and supported,” said Derrick Britton, Director of the Genesee County Department of Veteran Services. “We invite everyone businesses, organizations, and residents alike to join us in lighting the county green in honor of our nation’s heroes.”
Thanks to our partnership with PFCU Credit Union, green light bulbs will be available for community members to pick up after the event, while supplies last.
