Description
Please join Mr. B's Joybox Express and YouthQuest for an evening of blues and boogie-woogie music to benefit YouthQuest.
Music will be provided by Mark "Mr. B" Braun - Flint native and Mr. B’s Joybox Express founder, pianist, and primary cyclist.
Strolling hors d'oeuvres will be served. Business formal or cocktail attire.
Tunes & Ties is the Flint kick-off of "SPRINT 4 FLINT: RIDE, SWIM, PLAY, GIVE" — a unique campaign featuring a 600-pound piano bike and a multi-phase feat of athleticism to raise funds for YouthQuest, a free afterschool program that serves more than 2,000 K-12 students daily at 15 schools in Flint and Genesee County, Michigan.
Sprint 4 Flint begins with an around-the-clock, 24-hour sprint that takes the piano bike from Flint to Mackinaw City — a trip of more than 225 miles!
The piano bike will then be loaded on a barge and swam across the Straits of Mackinac led by Jim Dreyer, world-record holding swimmer, and accompanied by Mr. B.
The finale will be a concert played by Mr. B himself at the Grand Hotel’s Labor Day Jazz Festival.
