Wet Paint Day
Date and Time
Saturday Aug 8, 2015
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM EDT
Description
Come meet and watch Plein Air Artists from around the state as they paint on the grounds of Applewood, the beautiful estate of the Charles Stewart Mott families. Plein Air (a French expression meaning “in open air”) is used to describe the act of painting outdoors. Painters will take their art supplies directly to the site of interest and paint what they see. The artists in this event are from various mid- and southeast Michigan locations as well as from the greater Flint area. They work in a variety of media, including watercolor, oils, acrylics, pastels, pen and ink, charcoal and colored pencil. The artists will then exhibit their completed Applewood paintings that evening at a public "Wet Paint" reception at the Flint Institute of Arts. Enjoy refreshments and meet the artists. All works will be on sale. For more information visit www.flintarts.org.
