Description
What made the Packard Motor Company a cut-above the rest of automobile manufacturers, just “Ask the man who owns one.” The Detroit luxury car company’s longtime slogan spoke to the Packard’s status as the premier American vehicle of the first half of the 20th century. This display features stories of innovation by company engineers that changed the motoring experience forever, shed light on the Packard “Guild” – young women of culture and refinement recruited to augment the Packard sales team – in addition to a collection of cars from each decade of the nearly 60 year run of “The World’s Favorite Fine Car.” Sloan Museum is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. For details and a schedule of upcoming displays and activities visit www.sloanlongway.org.
