Description
Toulouse-Lautrec is best known for his works depicting scenes from cabarets, theaters, dance halls and brothels. These were themes that the artist lived, beginning in 1885 when he moved to Montmartre and immersed himself in its nightlife. His interest lay in portraying people, no only those he met during his nights on the town, but also his friends and the working-class citizens of Paris. He was a hard-working artist, producing an enormous body of work in a wide range of media. This exhibition features around 150 original works on paper, including 35 drawings. FIA is open Monday-Wednesday & Friday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For details and a schedule of upcoming exhibits visit www.flintarts.org.
